Last Fall, our friends Dawn and RJ got married in Buffalo, NY. Our group of friends would have loved to go but we just couldn't swing it. We still wanted to celebrate with them though so we planned a fun evening for all of us. (And by "we planned", I mean Amanda - you rock!)
We all attended a private cooking class hosted by Hipcooks. The class was held in an industrial area in LA. All we had to do was pay the fee and show up! (Once again, thank you Amanda for handling the details.) They had a cooking station, aprons, dining table ... the whole 9 yards. It was so much fun! I think we all learned a little something and had a great time with one another. Once again, congrats Dawn and RJ!
The venue:
The food:
Roasted Beet and Arugula Salad with Ginger Chile Dressing and Candied Cashews
Seared Fillet of Beef with a red wine sauce, garlicky mashed potato with celery root
Wine (I only had water of course)
Orange and almond cake with mascarpone
The action:
Chop! Chop!
Practicing their technique
Sam looks a little scared ...
Enjoying our hard work
