Dec. 2nd: 3 Months Old!!

Dear Landen,

Your Daddy and I can hardly believe it, but you’re 3 months today!  You’re officially no longer considered a newborn.  You have already come so far and gotten so big compared to the day you were born.  Some very exciting things have happened this past month.  Mommy got the biggest, most exciting present from you on November 27^th – you finally gave her a big, beautiful, honest-to-goodness smile!!!!  Since you were a month early , we had to wait an extra month longer than parents normally have to and it was killing us!  Mommy and Daddy were decorating the house for Christmas.  You woke up from a nap in the swing and when Mommy came to get you out of it, you flashed her a big toothy grin.  Oh man, my heart just melted.  In the couple of days since then we’ve seen you smile here and there.  There isn’t any one thing that guarantees a grin yet. 

You’re starting to sleep a little longer at night. Sometimes you’ll go 4 hours between bottles, sometimes 5, and even 7 hours every once in awhile!!  We can’t figure out a pattern to it, but it sure makes your Daddy happy when he you go longer stretches.  Now that you’re 3 months old, Daddy and I decided it’s time to move you into your own bedroom.  We moved your bassinet in there for a week so you could get accustomed to being in your room.  And then we put the bassinet away completely and you’re now sleeping in your crib!  You didn’t have any issues with the transition.  It’s a little lonely without you in our room with us, but we know it’s time for you to be in your own bedroom.

We have just moved you into size 3 to 6 month clothes.  Some of them are still a little big but you’re growing so quickly I know they will all fit in no time.  You’ve been giving Mommy some troubles with your poops.  All of the sudden we’re having daily blowouts!  You are only pooping about once a day now so when you go, you go big!  Mommy is tired of having to clean poop out of your clothes mister.  After trying a bigger sized diaper we determined that we need to switch you from Pamper Swaddlers to Huggies Snug and Dry.  The Huggies have an elastic gather in the back that helps hold it all in.  The Pampers don’t so it just goes straight up your back.  You’re now wearing size 3 Huggies.  They have pictures of Mickey Mouse on them.  Mommy loves that of course.

We are really excited about this next month and getting to experience our first Christmas with you.  Everything is so much more fun now that you’re with us.  We love you little man!

We had a hard time getting your monthly pictures this time.  First you were kinda glassy eyed, then you were sleepy, and then you were mad!  You’re still cute as a button though.
