Septemeber 1st – First steps!!

Landen had been cruising around pretty well and his balance was great but we hadn’t seen him attempt to walk on his own. Then all of the sudden the day before his birthday I caught him let go of the side table and take a step to the couch without holding on! I grabbed my camera to see if I could catch him do it again. Not only did he do it again, but he walked farther!! He just started doing it and shocked us both. We were so excited and proud of him. Our pediatrician had predicted he would start walking right around his first birthday and he couldn’t have been more right.

Within a few days he had mostly transitioned to walking. He would crawl if he really wanted to get somewhere quickly but that didn’t last long. We were really excited that he was walking because it had become hard to take him out places. He wanted to get around and crawl but it just wasn’t always safe. Landen walking the night before his first birthday really cemented his passing from an infant to a toddler.
