Oct. 31st – Landen’s First Halloween

Halloween morning I decided to get Landen dressed in his little sleeper and do a photo shoot.  I had no idea if he’d be in the mood for pictures by the end of the day.  I’m glad we did it early because he was sleepy sleepy sleepy all evening.  He slept through his first Halloween!  John tried to get a few pictures of him awake but he kept falling asleep.  We didn’t go out trick-or-treating or anything since we were still cocooning.  We decided he would get a costume and make his big debut next year.  Nala helped her Daddy pass out candy.  She LOVES greeting all the kids at the door.

Put up your dukes!

Who is this guy?

Oct. 30th – Pumpkin Carving

Daddy carved a pumpkin for Landen’s first Halloween.  Landen “watched” from the dining room table where it was safe.  John did a really good job.

Can you see Landen back there on the table?

Oct. 29th – Nala’s giant piece of jerky

While going through one of Nala’s drawers I found a huge piece of jerky.  Since she’s such a good girl I decided to give it to her for a special treat.  She was in seventh heaven!  She plopped down on the floor and went to town.  She held it between her paws so she could chew it better.

Thanks Mama!

Oct. 28th – Halloween at Disneyland

John and I decided to take a few hours to go to Disneyland while his parents stayed with Landen.  It was nice to get out and have a little fun.  Right as we walked in, the new Soundsational Parade was starting.  Since we hadn’t seen it yet we were really excited.  There was a ton of space to watch.  We really liked it.

After the parade we walked around to check out the Halloween decorations, went on a few rides, and had dinner.

Then we went across the way to California Adventure to see ElecTRONica and the Laserman show.  We’d heard a lot about it but had never had a chance to see it ourselves.  It was pretty neat!  There was a dance party with DJ’s before and after the show.

Laser man!  He did some pretty cool stuff.  I was too busy watching to get much video. J

Oct. 23rd – Nov. 1st

Sunday, October 23rd
Talking to his bird (you can’t really see it in the picture, but he loves to look at the bird)

Unfortunately we have a lot of this going on.  Landen’s tummy is upset often these days.  His doctor says it is pretty normal for a newborn’s immature digestive system, but I hate to see him so uncomfortable.

Tuesday, October 25th
He likes to prop his arm up like this when I’m holding him.

Making funny faces

Friday, October 28th

I look super cute in the snowman hat the Harper’s gave me (and super sleepy)

Saturday, October 29th
Sleeping in my little chick jammies.  I look a lot like Mommy did in her baby pictures when I’m sleeping.

Sunday, October 30th
Daddy and I are taking a nap

Cuddling my lovey – it’s not as big as it was when I was in the hospital.  Either it’s shrinking or I’m growing!

Tuesday, November 1st
Mommy loves carrying me in her Gemini carrier.  I got right to sleep and she has both of her hands free to actually get stuff done around the house!

I’m so exhausted!

Oct. 22nd – Deanna’s Bridal Tea

My best friend Deanna’s first official wedding event took place in October.  Deanna and Loryn’s wedding was quickly approaching in January so it was exciting to sort of kick off the festivities.

We headed down to Oceanside to attend a bridal shower tea held by Loryn’s family.  It was really great to meet his sister and aunts, and get to know his mom better.  We laughed so much!  It was really a wonderful afternoon.

I wasn’t very on top of the picture taking because we were having so much fun, but they had a long table set with their family china.  We had little sandwiches, scones, and various teas.  Loryn’s sister is into bellydancing so we cooked up a quick little dance and practiced it.  We played a quick game where Deanna had to answer questions about Loryn.  His aunts had called him and got his answers in secret.  Every time Deanna got one wrong she had to put a piece of bubble gum in her mouth and chew it.  Loryn was a dead man by the time it was over because he had some random answers and Deanna’s gum wad was HUGE.  We loved it!  Then it was present time!  Deanna received a wonderful cookbook full of our favorite recipes.  She also got some fun do-dads for home and some lingerie.  After all the gifts we did some picture taking before it was time to go.

We couldn’t have started off the countdown to the wedding on a better note!
