Tuesday, May 1st
Ready to go to Lolo’s!

Sometimes in the afternoons John will take Nala to the park to play with other neighborhood dogs.  He always asks her first if she wants to go … and always gets an exuberate response!

April 28th: March For Babies –AND- Relay For Life

We had one jam packed Saturday on April 28th!  We signed up to do the March For Babies in the morning, and the Relay For Life that evening.

When we heard about the March For Babies we knew we wanted to participate to help raise funds for the March of Dimes.  The MOD volunteer at the hospital when Landen was in the NICU was so kind and caring towards us.  It was just what we needed when we were scared.  After Landen came home I realized that the surfactant treatment he received to help his lungs was discovered by research funded by the MOD.  We feel that it is a great organization that does so much to help prevent prematurity and provide support to parents of preemies.  It was a no-brainer that we wanted to contribute!  I created “Team Landen”, set up a website, and then let our friends and family know so they could be a part of it.  We fundraised, bought t-shirts, and made team pins.  Finally the big day arrived and we were ready!

Landen got up bright and early and got dressed in his gear.

The team congregated while my Mom and I got us checked in

We headed over to the family teams tent to hang out and to find Landen’s sign.  They asked me to write up a summary of Landen’s preemie obstacles to be displayed for others to read throughout the day.

Hanging out waiting for the walk to start.

Group photo!

Naptime

It’s finally time to start!!

Done!

Taking some time to rest (and cool off) before heading home

Hanging out and playing with Sophie the Giraffe before the next event

Hanging out at the Moog booth at the Torrance Relay For Life

There were some interesting characters in charge!

We had a really good day but we were exhausted after all that walking.  It had been hot at the March For Babies so it really took a lot out of us.  We’re glad we were able to do both though and support such worthy causes.

Apr. 22nd – Apr. 28th

Sunday, April 22nd
Smiley boy in the morning!

Baby burrito!!

Monday, April 23rd
Look at what happens when Landen hits Mommy’s hand when she’s about to put a spoonful of food in his mouth.

Tuesday, April 24th
After all the splashing Landen was doing in the kitchen, I decided it was time to move him into the bathtub for baths. We have an inflatable ducky tub for him to use. It’s really cute but I just about passed out blowing it up! I should have waited for John to get home and use the air compressor but I was bound and determined to get that thing inflated. I succeeded but I definitely needed a breather afterwards!

Trying it on for size

He likes it!

Wednesday, April 25th
Yep, he’s Mommy’s Little Monster!

Pop goes the weasel! He’s been “talking” a lot more lately.

Landen loves it when we make a popping sound. He grins every time. (You can see a wardrobe change was necessary. “Mommy’s little monster” lived up to his name and breakfast was a disaster!)

This is a really bad example of it, but I can’t seem to catch him doing this on camera. He loves to hold a dangling toy up in one hand and then bat at it with the other hand.

Friday, April 27th
First day of sign language class with Mimi.

April 21st: Landen’s Photoshoot with Jessica Lake

Landen’s photoshoot with Jessica Lake this month was a little bit more of a free-form theme since there wasn’t a specific holiday to celebrate.  She had several things to choose from and we just kinda went with the flow.  Landen was finally smiley and Jessica got some cute pics.

Sunday, Apr. 15th

Sunday, April 15th

Landen LOVES to watch Nala and pet her.

Nala saw Landen’s hand up so she “shook”.

Monday, April 16th
John decided he needed a recovery day after his business trip so he stayed home with Landen.  He said he was “working from home” but I think mostly he just needed a day off.

Daddy didn’t know it when he picked out an outfit, but this shirt is part of a pajama set!  Oh well, no biggee.

Ready for breakfast!

John took Landen and Nala to the park so Nala could run around and play with her doggie friends. Landen observed.

Rolled up in a blanket again!

Tuesday, April 17th
Nala’s letting Landen touch her toe!

Wednesday, April 18th
My two adorable kiddos!

Say cheese Nala!

How’s that for a fake grin?

I have no idea why Nala was hanging out in Landen’s room by herself.  She randomly does that sometimes.

Landen’s first time riding in a grocery cart! He was really interested in everything and checking it all out. He’s not used to it yet though so he would lean to the sides and need to get propped back up again.

Bath time!

We’re rethinking the bath-in-the-kitchen-sink thing.  He’s super splashy now and always grabbing the faucet handle. We don’t want him to get burned.  It may be time to move to the bathtub …

Thursday, April 19th
Passed out on a trip to the park with Nala.

Cuddled up with Mimi for a nap

Friday, April 20th

Future Prince Charming indeed!

Passed out next to Daddy.

Saturday, April 21st
Doing some morning reading

We switched Landen from the infant carrier carseat to a convertible. He’s MUCH happier in the car now. He likes sitting up higher and looking out the window. Babies-R-Us was having a really good sale so we got one for each of our cars. He should be in this seat for a very long time. He looks like such a big boy!

Look, we match!
