Swim Lessons: May 29th – June 8th

We signed Landen up for “Parent and Me” swim class through the city of Lakewood. It was a 30 minute session every day for 2 weeks. John got in the water with Landen and they just cruised around the pool splashing. The instructor would go from baby to baby for some one-on-one time and they’d all sing a song or two together. It was a great opportunity to introduce Landen to the water. He LOVED it the first day. The kid was in seventh heaven and really animated. Some of the other days didn’t go as well depending on whether or not he’d had good naps. We skipped a couple of days, but overall the two weeks was a good experience and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year when Landen will be a little more of an active participant.

First class after a little break for the weekend and John’s birthday. The water was a chilly as you first got in so Landen cried a little bit until he got used to it.

Trying to steal his teacher’s glasses

A helicopter flew right over the pool and circled in the area

What do you mean tomorrow is the last day??

Kick! Kick!

More splashing of course!

Landen’s last day of swimming. As much as we liked going, we were kind of tired of doing it every day. We finally wised up and brought Landen’s sunglasses so he wouldn’t have to squint in the sun. Duh!

Some final splashing

Noodle time!

Landen got a certificate. We can’t wait until next year!

May 25th – June 1st

Friday, May 25th
Seriously, this kid loves Nala so much!

We attempted to give Landen some Stage 2 baby food that was more textured than the typical purees.  Not chunky, but thicker and lumpier.  He was not liking it and making all sorts of faces so of course, I grabbed the video camera.  I was pretty funny until he threw up!!  Poor little guy.  Throwing up didn’t seem to bother him at all but it sure sent us scurrying.  We could not believe how much that baby threw up!!  A bath was definitely needed.  We thought he didn’t like the flavor but over time (and more failed attempts with different flavors) we discovered it was the texture.

All cleaned up and ready to play.  Careful, Nala’s tail is gonna get ya!

Saturday, May 26th
We bought a tricycle for Landen that converts to different stages as he grows.  John put it together and they gave it a practice spin.  Landen needs more practice …

Japan Business Trip: May 21st – May 24th

John had to go on another business trip so I was left at home holding down the fort.  Luckily this trip was a bit shorter than the Baguio trip … it still wasn’t easy.  I sent John a daily update of what we had been up to.  He says he really likes to get them so I take a million pictures and document everything we’re doing.  Here’s the lowdown on our four days without him.
