I wore this shirt when I was in the NICU.  It was HUGE on me then.  Now it fits.  I’m getting bigger!

Christmas calendar for my parents

While I was making the Christmas calendar for my Grandma, I decided to make one of me and my brother for my parents.  I chose pictures from all through our lives.  They really loved it.

(John also made a calendar for his parents filled with pro shots from our engagement shoot, wedding, maternity shoot, and Landen’s newborn shoot.  It turned out really nice.)

Dec. 25th – Christmas Day

After our rough evening with Landen Christmas Eve, I was really happy Christmas morning when he woke up happy as a clam.  We got up and got dressed and saw that Santa had visited!

(My mom wasn’t quite done make Landen’s stocking yet so his stocking stuffers were in the hanging bag.)

Santa came?

Let’s open the gifts!

Christmas puppy!

We had everyone over to our house to open presents.  It’s a bit of a squeeze in the family room for all of us, and our gifts, but it was cozy.  My parents came over first and we had breakfast.  Throughout the morning Landen slept some, ate some, and hung out some.  Taylor was busy opening gifts and checking them out.  She was already a bit on gift overload though because they’d opened presents at their house with RenĂ©e’s family beforehand.  Our family likes to relax and open gifts one-at-a time and chit chat about them, so it takes us awhile to get through our mountain of presents.

Nala got some treats

Hanging out with Mimi and Papa

Hmmmm, what’s this?

Hey Nala, check out my ear muffs!

Bobby’s lovin’ Taylor’s beanie

We got my Dad a big tool he’d asked for.  We decided to have Bobby do some creative wrapping.  He loves it.  You know you’re in for it when you get a gift and you get handed tools to open it up.  J

Unfortunately, some of the other side of the family was intent on us getting to another celebration so we ended up kicking my family out of our house and rushing off.  I was NOT a happy camper.  It really put a damper on a day that should have been relaxing and fun.  We didn’t let it spoil our day though.  Luckily Christmas was at John’s parents’ house so we didn’t have to drive far.  We got there and saw this enormous spread of food:

We got a chance to visit with the family.

The mommy’s took some pictures with Landen and John’s cousin’s son Elijah.  Both boys (and their moms) were pretty tired at this point.

The grandma’s got in on the action too.

Daryl attempted to hold Landen and was totally unprepared.  Pinky says “yeah, we’re not ready for this.”

Pinky was on top of it though.

Then it was time to exchange gifts.

Opening a special ornament from Landen to his grandparents

John made a special picture book for me, his mom, and my mom. He’s so sweet.

Landen got his very own shares of Disney stock from his grandparents!  Just like my grandparents got for me.  I love it!

While we were with John’s family, Nala went to hang out with my parents.  She and Papa took a nap.

We ended up having a nice day, but we decided it was all too much.  We talked it over with my family and we’ve decided that we’ll do breakfast and stocking stuffers with them Christmas morning and then go to the inlaws.  We’ll get back together with my family on the 26th and do our Christmas celebration then.  It won’t be so tiring for everyone and it will be better to space it out for the kids.  We’re all pretty excited about it because Christmas was turning into a big day of exhaustion.
