Nov. 25th – Dec. 1st

Friday, November 25th
Sleeping with Bear

Landen does this thing where he cries while he’s sleeping sometimes.  It’s pretty pitiful.  I keep trying to catch it on video but I’m not having much luck.  You can kind of get an idea here but it’s often much worse with actual crying.  He laughs sometimes too, but it’s usually crying.

Nov. 24th: Thanksgiving

Since we were still playing it safe with Landen and keeping him partially quarantined, we decided to have a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year.  We didn’t want to take him to a crowded family gathering where he’d be passed around and possibly exposed to a lot of germs.  Even though it was just us, we definitely had no intentions of missing out on all the yummy Thanksgiving food!  We went ahead and cooked ourselves a feast.  I did some of the prep work the night before to keep it more manageable on Thanksgiving Day.  We had turkey, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry fluff, and cornbread.  For dessert I made a pumpkin spice cake instead of my usual ice cream pumpkin pie just to change it up a little bit.  Let me tell you something … the food was amazing!!!  We made all my family’s traditional recipes.  Mmmmmm mmm!  We should make Thanksgiving food more often.

While the turkey was cooking I got Landen dressed up for his first Thanksgiving.  Isn’t he cute?

Where's the turkey!?!

Nala always get to have a little turkey with us on Thanksgiving.

Family shot!  (Nala's down there, you just can't see her.)  We couldn’t get Landen’s eyes off of the chandelier.  J

Nov. 21st: Steam

As I was walking by the office window one morning I noticed that the backyard was steaming! The sun was drying the dew from the night before. It was pretty neat.

Nov. 19th: Deanna’s Travel Shower

In addition to the wedding shower Loryn’s family gave Deanna, she also had one with her close family friends thrown but her wedding party. That was me! Let me tell you, it was no easy feat to plan a shower with a newborn at home. I was stressed! I had the help of the other great bridesmaids though and it couldn’t have turned out better. The shower was travel themed since Deanna and Loryn love to travel and they’re going on a European cruise for their honeymoon. The shower was held at Buca di Beppo. Renée and I went down to the restaurant to check it out and immediately knew the Italian décor would be perfect. We had travel themed decorations, favors, games, cake, and cake pops. Everyone loved it! We were so happy to be able to throw Deanna a little party to celebrate her upcoming wedding.

The invitations I created

Dessert table – Deanna’s Mom made the cake! Christa’s friend made the cake pops and Christa put the flags on the sticks. The flags were from the countries Deanna and Loryn will visit on their honeymoon.

Sharon made this cute passport book as a little guestbook for everyone to write well wishes to Deanna.

It’s almost impossible to see in this picture but Renee made this sign that read “The Adventure Begins”.

She also made this one that was behind Deanna at the table.

A (blurry) picture of the table setup and the place settings.

John helped us make these postcards of Deanna and Loryn. He placed pics of them into scenes from famous landmarks they’ll be visiting.  We had them along the tables.

I made a brochure about Deanna and Loryn and their honeymoon plans

We played a matching game I created where you had to match the wedding tradition to the country Deanna and Loryn are visiting on their honeymoon.
