December 2nd – 15 months old

Dear Landen,

We just don’t know how time keeps going by so quickly, but you’re already 15 months old!!  As usual, you pick up new tricks and astonish us all the time.  After a lot of work, and trying various cups, you are now officially drinking from a straw cup!  Yay!!  We finally had success with the Rubbermaid cups.  You will drink water from a straw cup but not milk yet.  One step at a time.  You pretty much each table foods now for meals with a few purees thrown in here and there.  You really like to eat sunbutter.  And you LOVED your plate of Thanksgiving dinner.  You inhaled every last bite!  We can’t really blame you though, it WAS pretty tasty.  You finally got your missing molar in so now you have 12 teeth total and are working on more.

Mommy had to rearrange her half of the closet to put a stop to the all-out disaster area when you would daily empty my drawers.  We had to buy extra drawer safety locks for “safe” kitchen drawers because you constantly dump your spoons, bowls, and Tupperware all over the kitchen floor.  We finally couldn’t take it anymore so we had to cut off your access to the mess.  Don’t worry though, still have opportunities to make large messes.  You enjoy emptying your toy box by literally chucking toys into the center of the room.

Somehow you figured out how to unlock Mommy’s phone and managed to pull up Twitter!!  I can only imagine what your first tweet might have been if she hadn’t stopped you.  You love to walk around the house “mixing” with a spoon and a container.  You like to push and pull your toys – especially your lawn mower and your wagon.  The wagon has to be empty though or else you have to stop and take everything out before you pull it.  You can now climb up on the couches.  We’ve had to start enforcing “sit” because we’ve let you walk on the couches some in the past, but now that you can get up on your own we’re afraid you’ll walk around and tumble off without us there to supervise.  As we put out the Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving you would get a giant smile with each one.  You love them all!  You absolutely loved playing in the leaves in Mimi’s backyard and giggled when throwing them into the air.

You blow kisses when someone leaves.  You also give kisses and say “mmmmmm-uh!”.  You will also give a hug to give love in addition to your usual putting your forehead down on someone.  You know how to point to your nose and your head when we ask where they are.  You still babble a lot but the only real words are “nah-nah” for Nala and “shzz” for shoes.

We love getting to see your little personality emerge.  You are just a delight to us and we love all the new things you are learning.  What will the next month bring!?!
